Changes to my study programme
In my
career (sociology), knowledge of research methodologies is very important,
which is why there are many branches of theory that help to understand these
methodologies and help a lot when carrying out our own investigations. In the
third year of my career there are very interesting branches, such as sociology
of gender, sociology of culture, inequality and social stratification, and
multivariate statistics, which are branches that help to see sociological
studies from cultural, social, and gender perspectives, mainly based on in
theories created by other authors.
The university has a large library that helps
to obtain these texts, in addition to the fact that the professors deliver
everything we need, and the infrastructure of the rooms allows the use of their
own technological devices, as well as some rooms that have computers.
Something that I didn’t like about this year's
methodology is in the field of sociology of gender, since the texts are passed
around in group presentations that do not allow discussion or participation by
other students, so I think it would be a good idea to implement theory taught
differently, like a conversation about the text or the explanation of theories
in a more dynamic way.
